The Motor Claim Specialist is responsible for managing and processing third-party bodily injury claims related to motor accidents. With extensive experience in the insurance industry, the specialist will handle complex claims, ensuring timely and fair resolution in compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

a Claims Management

  • Evaluate and process third-party bodily injury claims, ensuring accurate assessment of liability and damages.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and consulting with medical and legal experts as needed.
  • Determine appropriate claim settlements based on policy coverage, legal liability, and medical assessments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalated claim issues, working to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements effectively.

b Customer and Stakeholder Interaction

  • Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, legal representatives, and medical professionals to facilitate the claims process.
  • Provide clear and concise updates to all parties involved, ensuring a transparent and customer-focused approach.

c Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with Singapore's legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to motor insurance and bodily injury claims.

d Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for each claim, maintaining accurate and organized records.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for process improvement.

e Collaboration and Team Support

  • Work closely with internal teams, including underwriting, risk management, and legal, to support the overall claims process.

f Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Professional certification in insurance or claims management.
  • Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI) and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with Singapore College of Insurance is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Motor claims handling with a focus on third party bodily claims
  • Good knowledge of Singapore's motor insurance regulations and claims processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • AI-Skills e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage.
