We are currently seeking a Claims Specialist to join our team, reporting directly to the VP, of Commercial Lines. As a Claims Specialist, you will be the driving force behind the claims process, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients from initiation to resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, analyze, and interpret policy wordings to determine coverage applicable to the loss.

• Input new loss information into the claims system, facilitating a smooth claims initiation process.

• Negotiate and advocate on behalf of the insured throughout the settlement process, maximizing client satisfaction.

• Proactively manage all claims to a conclusion, employing an effective abeyance system for ongoing maintenance.

• Maintain accurate claims documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance.

• Respond promptly to all phone and email messages within company timelines, providing ongoing status updates to customers and internal teams until file closure.

• Analyze claims data for trends to contribute to future risk mitigation efforts.

• Prepare comprehensive reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Attend and actively participate in meetings, mediations, and settlement conferences.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a claims role.

• Experience in Commercial Insurance.

• Completed Post-Secondary education in a related field of study (college or university level).

• Interpersonal, strong communication and active listening skills are crucial for effective client engagement.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Deep understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques.
