The Product Claims and Regulatory team (“PCR Team”) sits within the Global Legal Services function, part of Dyson Legal and is made up of lawyers, scientists and engineers.


The PCR Team work with the business units to ensure that Dyson are able to make compelling, differentiated and robustly substantiated claims.The claims function of the PCR team delivers technically robust claim substantiation through scientific expertise and consumer insight, providing evidence that withstands regulatory scrutiny and external challenge

About the role

As a claims and performance manager at Dyson you will be tasked with ensuing that we have robust and durable scientific evidence in place before we make any statements about the performance of our products to the wider world.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Business Unit, Commercial, Creative, Research, RDD and Legal teams to develop and refine robust claims substantiation strategy to support the Business Units claims vision.

  • Be responsible for developing the claims substantiation documentation for each project.

  • Identify and work with credible partners and test houses, setting up method development briefs.

  • Ensuring appropriate knowledge retention and sharing within the PCR team.

  • Undertaking technical risk assessments for substantiation and sharing this with the Business Unit and Legal team.

  • Communicating complex scientific information in a non-technical language.

  • Providing technical support to the Litigation team onincoming and outgoing challenges.

  • Analyse and interpret data and make informed decisions on the appropriate statistical analysis.

  • Supporting Dysons PCF framework by attending and informing milestone meetings.

  • Reviewing assets ahead of launch.

  • Contributing to PCR Team strategy and policies

  • Contributing to PCR Team’s strategic goals which align with the Global Legal Services function level strategies.

About you

  • Educated to degree level in a STEM subject

  • At least three years of experience working in industry in relevant roles

  • Highly technical, able to understand the impact of regulations and test metrics on our claims

  • Analytical with good numeracy, able to scrutinise claims and copy, identifying subtleties, flaws and inferences that might enable others to challenge the validity of Dyson advertising

  • A strategic thinker, able to identify opportunities and develop new test methods and concepts that benefit our product categories and influence consumer magazines and standards bodies

  • Engaging, communicative, influential, motivated, open-minded, flexible, detailed, professional and discreet

  • An excellent organiser and planner, able to prioritise and communicate across all levels of a business
