As a Claims Governance & Risk Specialist, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how TAL supports customers when they need us most. Working at the centre of our Claims function, you’ll help embed strong risk and governance practices that enable confident, consistent decision-making across all channels and portfolios. By contributing to proactive risk management and continuous improvement, this role helps build trust for our customers, our people and our regulators—supporting TAL’s purpose of helping Australians live better lives with clarity, care and confidence.

In this role you will:

  • Provide risk and governance insights that enable compliant, commercially sound claims decisions
  • Identify and address risk trends, delivering recommendations that strengthen claims practices
  • Drive continuous improvement by partnering with stakeholders to uplift processes, controls and training
  • Enhance complaints outcomes by analysing trends and improving resolution approaches and capability
  • Lead regulatory and audit responses, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely issue remediation
  • Support risk culture by helping teams identify, manage and monitor risk and compliance effectively

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance or technical claims within a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of life insurance frameworks, claims handling and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to analyse problems and deliver practical solutions that improve processes and outcomes
  • Confident communicator who can translate technical concepts into clear, meaningful insights
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across all levels
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
