The Role

We are currently hiring for a Claims Examiner in our Manchester office to investigate, evaluate and manage insurance claims while delivering timely, cost-effective outcomes for our customers and partners.

What You’ll Be Doing

Claims assessment: Review policy coverage, determine liability and compensability, and make informed coverage decisions.

Claims resolution: Manage claim lifecycles, set reserves, authorise payments and drive efficient, cost-effective settlements.

Investigation management: Gather and assess information from insureds, claimants, witnesses and external experts to support claim decisions.

Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with brokers, legal counsel, underwriters, account representatives and insureds to achieve successful claim outcomes.

Reporting & compliance: Maintain accurate claims data, provide management reporting and ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Claims expertise: Knowledge of insurance claims handling practices and principles within a commercial insurance environment.

Negotiation skills: Ability to negotiate effectively and achieve fair, commercially sound claim settlements.

Communication skills: Strong interpersonal abilities with confidence engaging internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Analytical thinking: Strong problem-solving capability, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.

Technical proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office applications, with exposure to ECF and/or CLASS systems advantageous.
