What does a Claims Consultant do?

Life Insurance Claims Assessment is where professional judgement meets real human impact.

When someone can no longer work due to illness or injury, you step in to help them navigate their claim. You will:

  • Review insurance policies and supporting documentation
  • Assess medical, financial and personal information
  • Apply policy terms and relevant guidelines
  • Make clear, fair decisions and explain outcomes with care

Your work will help protect more than 5 million Australians, providing certainty and support when they need it most.

Qualifications

We are looking for people who come from the below backgrounds:

  • Financial or risk analysis
  • Accounting, audit or advisory work
  • Banking or lending assessment
  • Legal, compliance or regulatory roles
  • Emergency Services & Health Science
  • Reviewing detailed documentation and applying frameworks

  • Think analytically and pay close attention to detail
  • Comfortable interpreting policies and applying judgement
  • Can balance technical assessment with empathy and fairness
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and stakeholders
  • Value accountability, structure and doing the right thing
