About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Claims Benefits Specialist, Workers Compensation. As part of our team you’ll help make a positive difference to our injured Team Member’s lives every day and feel great satisfaction knowing your talent and hard work has an important purpose.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the CTC Central Operations Manager you’ll be responsible for ensuring that Coles meeting regulatory requirements and promote positive recovery of injured team members on workers compensation through payment of accurate weekly compensation. You will primarily be supporting the VIC/TAS CTC team however as part of a national centralised you will learn and cover all jurisdictions requirements.

You will:

• Maintain understanding of legal and compliance requirements for workers compensation across jurisdictions Coles is self-insured in
• Calculate accurate weekly benefits entitlements (PIAWE / NWE / AWE) and associated payments
• Engaging with business to ensure accurate information is gathered, address queries and resolve issues.
• Governing weekly compensation payments to ensure any overpayment or underpayment is managed within Coles Group policy.
• Process / continual improvement.
• Supporting the CTC team with relevant tasks to ensure legal compliance.

About you and your skills 

To be successful in this position you will need a strong administrative skills and attention to detail. You will preferably be based in Victoria and have experience in workers compensation and / or payroll. Process improvement is a focus to ensure systemic continual improvement. You will also need:

• Excellent record keeping skills and stakeholder skills. 
• Experience and skill with Microsoft Office suite of products. 
• Claims or Electronic Information Management systems experience.
