Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil/Structural inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to perform field inspections and ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
Conduct inspections to verify that work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards.
Inspect construction activities related to roads, bridges, sidewalks, drainage systems, landscaping, and associated infrastructure improvements.
Monitor traffic control, storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) compliance, and site safety practices.
Inspect installation of traffic signals, street lighting, ramp metering systems, and other electrical equipment.
Review irrigation systems, planting works, signage installation, and roadway delineation.
Monitor building and facility construction works and associated site development activities.
Capture daily project photographs, maintain organized records, and prepare daily inspection reports and diaries.
Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the project works.
Conduct labor compliance interviews and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
Identify potential issues, conflicts, or non-conformance and recommend corrective actions to the supervisor.
Collect and maintain project documentation including Certificates of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and inspection records.
Verify installed quantities to support progress payments and change order documentation.
Coordinate inspection activities with surveying and material testing consultants.
Support quality control processes and job safety practices across the project site.
Respond to site emergencies or call-backs when required.
Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors when needed.
Perform all duties in compliance with health, safety, and public safety requirements.
Knowledge of public works contracts and construction processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong mathematical and engineering calculation skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office and project-related software tools.
Ability to prepare clear reports, inspection diaries, and documentation.
Understanding of construction scheduling and progress tracking.
Ability to review progress payment estimates and extra work claims.
Ability to identify hazardous conditions and ensure corrective action.
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented construction environment.
Ability to work in field conditions including climbing ladders, inspecting elevated work areas, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
Associate’s Degree in construction, engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or construction-related field is preferred.
OSHA 10-hour construction safety training or equivalent safety certification.
5+ years of field inspection experience on infrastructure or construction projects.
Certifications related to Highway Construction, Highway Design, or Highway Surveying are preferred.
