The Opportunity
In this role you will:
- Ensure the Client / Owner´s Statutory Obligations are met in accordance with local legislation, codes and permits. Through the A/E Design Team and Contractor, liaise with utility, local and statutory authorities to implement their requirements for the Project. Check that those requirements are communicated to Microsoft, Design Team and Contractor, and use reasonable endeavors to secure compliance with them.
- Support the delivery of a wide range of projects, work with the PM:s and Client reps to establish the project management execution as described in the DIV01 – documents.
- Assist in the implementation of all key project processes to support the project’s delivery and monitor these processes, reporting and making recommendations to the client team.
- Liaise with Microsoft and the consultant team and advise on methods of progressing construction works prior to the execution of the Building Contract.
- Engage with and advice the client design team specialist related elements.
- Liaise with the team, consultant team and Contractors to review and regularly update the Project Risk Register.
- Implement and monitor Risk Mitigation Plans and provide input into quantitative risk analysis reviews.
- Review the General Contractor's Construction Plan, Site Logistics Plan, Health & Safety Plan and Quality Plan prior to construction start. Make recommendations.
- Implement procedures for quality management. Implement review, approval, variation and reporting procedures. Prepare recommendations for approvals.
- Liaise with the consultant team and identify any specialist/proprietary or long lead building systems. Prepare recommendations for approvals.
- Liaise with project site teams, the consultant team and the Contractor for Value Engineering exercises and related optioneering/feasibility studies. Make recommendations.
- Agree submittals and other documentation required from the consultant team under the Building Contract.
- Check the safety policy and processes prepared by the Contractor. Prepare recommendations for approvals.
- Work with appointed A/E, GC and specialist project subcontractors to ensure correct work methods and installation requirements are adhered to and ensure that appropriate method statements are in place and signed off by the relevant parties in advance of each work phase commencement.
- Agree all test certificates and statutory and non-statutory approvals required from the Professional Team and the Contractor.
- Monitor and report on the procurement progress status.
- Assist in preparation for meetings, chairing and recording all minutes.
- Attend and monitor meetings and escalate any issues that may arise.
- Implement project procedures and use reasonable endeavors to ensure that this procedure is always observed.
- Assist in the change management process. Review the scope of Building Contract and consultantteam appointments to the Microsoft and advise on additional works required by third parties.
- Undertake regular Site inspections. Obtain progress and quality reports from the site staff representing the client, the consultant team and the Contractor. Present and make recommendations.
- Monitor site works, record, and report non-conforming work and drive the team for follow up, preventative and close out actions.
- Assist in the review and assessment of proposed variations in the works and of any actual or anticipated delays to the progress of the works.
- Assist in the handover plan, monitor, and track the preparation of documentation.
- Coordinate with the client team, consultant team and the contractor on all snagging activities, including the schedule and stakeholder engagement.
- Participate in the lessons learnt & implemented activities as applicable.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have a Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science degree.
- Have 7+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large scale civils , incl. ground improvement, deep foundations, and rock blasting and utility services.
- Understand HV/MV power transmission systems, CSA & MEP systems engineering principles and local & statutory requirements.
- Have general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution.
- Have experience of international projects and have a sound understanding of cultural, diversity and inclusivity aspects in a large-scale program delivery context.
- Possess a civils construction background.
- Have Industrial / DC construction experience > 5 years (preferred).
- Have a good understanding of Design management.
- Possess strong Computer Skills.
- Have Project management / stakeholder management skills
- Experience in international project.
