Department Overview

The Site Engineering team in Nodnett serves as the technical backbone for cell sites in the radio network, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on maintenance. In terms of Operational Management, the team ensures maximum uptime through rigorous maintenance and subcontractor oversight, while providing essential Customer and Operator Support by troubleshooting equipment and managing technical requests for onsite users. Power resilience is a top priority, involving the deployment of Alternative Power Solutions like solar or generators and the execution of critical Battery Tests to guarantee that UPS systems perform during outages. On the administrative front, the team provides Procurement Support by vetting technical specifications and manages Budget and Cost Control to optimize utility spending and lifecycle expenses. Moreover, through Reporting and Risk Management, the team analyzes system performance and identifies potential failure points to mitigate threats before they impact the business.


1. Operational Management (CW & TI)
• Maintain routine communication with the Customer regarding operational service & maintenance activities, and site interventions.
• Support field teams in implementing new equipment and maintaining existing installations in relation to scope, planning and documentation.
• Support field teams activities, ensuring efficient prioritization of incidents, Change request and preventive maintenance in accordance with specifications and guidelines.
• Support training of field teams to ensure adequate competence

2. Customer & Operator Support
• Support the Operator in defining operational specifications for CW, Design, and TI in accordance with National regulations, Customer requirements, and project standards.
• Defining additional SoW (Scope of Works) for operational CRQ:s (Change Requests)
• Contribute to defining operational processes, procedures, and guidelines for CW, Design, TI, and Acceptance.
• Support development of procurement strategies for operational CW, Design, and TI services.
• Update the CW, Design, and TI sections of the yearly Service Plan.

3. APS (Alternative Power Solutions)
• Support the work related to the service and maintenance of sites with APS.
• Lead and plan the retrofit of APS equipment in cooperation with other team members.
• Ensure that documentation related to retrofits and service maintenance work is updated

4. Battery Tests
• Maintain the process for remote battery tests
• Lead and ensure that the team performs the remote battery test two times / year
• Evaluate the test results and define the sites that will require new batteries
• Facilitate a Service Plan for maintenance visits that aligns with upcoming battery swaps

5. Procurement – Purchase Orders Requisitions and Invoices handling
• Define and evaluate possible vendors and products within the area of CW and TI
• Request quotations, handle tenders and participate in negotiations, for subcontracted works.
• Agreeing unit prices for operational tasks and additional works.
• Verify, negotiate, and approve change order requests for operational works when no applicable contract prices exist (in cooperation with the Operator’s Procurement).
• Support Procurement with RFI:s, RFQ:s and vendor evaluations
• Ensure that required Purchase Orders related to Service and Maintenance, Helicopter Services, Battery swaps and others jobs are created in accordance with agreed terms
• Plan and define delivery dates for required products and spare parts

6. Budget & Cost Control
• Identify and propose yearly budget for a number of cost categories
• Support Finance in forecasting upcoming costs
• Follow-Up given budget and ensure the correctness
• Identify and propose cost reduction opportunities in maintenance and upgrade activities.

7. Documentation (CW, Design & TI)
• Develop / Improve and maintain CW and TI design related documents
• Ensure latest approved templates and documentation are used for maintenance and upgrade activities.
• Update existing site design drawings (with AutoCad LT)
• Ensure that subcontractors documentation comply with given specifications and standards
• Perform random checks on site designs and completed works to ensure compliance with operational standards.

8. Health & Safety
• Support Health and Safety Manager in relation to the areas of CW, TI and Design

9. Reporting & Risk Management
• Provide any required CW, TI, design input.
• Identify operational risks (technical, contractual, safety related) and propose mitigation actions.


Basic Requirements

  • Have work experience (5+ years) in Civil Works and Telecom Implementation for cellular networks

  • Have good knowledge of Alternative Power Solutions such as generators and solar, and batteries technology

  • Are fluent in Norwegian and English, written and spoken

  • Relevant higher education is an advantage.
