About the role

CMC is currently recruiting for a Civil Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of major TMR Remediation works on Mt Spec Road, North of Townsville. The package includes restoration of multiple landslip sites in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, providing geotechnical and environmental considerations for a range of stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be providing support in the field, assisting with the day-to-day coordination of all resources ensuring effective delivery, construction worker safety and completion within budget and timeframe. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing site operations, management and administration to ensure efficient delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Developing weekly work programs with the project team, monitoring costs and identifying improvements
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers, inspections and testing to ensure works meet required standards
  • Providing daily progress updates, photo records and cost reports, including identifying potential variations
  • Ensuring all training requirements are met to maintain a competent workforce
  • Conducting regular client inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance with project requirements

About you

We’re looking for seasoned Supervisors with significant site based civil construction experience, underpinned by solid technical know-how.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government, clients, communities and management
  • Experience delivering landslip remediation projects for TNSW or TMR essential
  • Proven leadership skills in a construction environment, with the ability to build strong client and workforce relationships
  • Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and relevant legislation
  • Ability to interpret project and standard drawings and work to relevant standards and codes
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction and/or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret project and standard drawings and work to relevant standards and codes.
