As a Lead Civil Structural Engineer at GE Vernova, you will spearhead the development of critical civil engineering activities for our New Nuclear Plant projects. Your Impact

You will provide technical leadership and operational oversight for civil systems design and construction support. By blending independent decision-making with collaborative team management, you will ensure our projects are delivered safely, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership:Lead the design, analysis, and evaluation of complex civil systems, ensuring strict adherence to global engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Project Governance:Guide work plans to successful completion, managing schedules and budgets while ensuring all technical documentation meets rigorous engineering policies.
  • Strategic Coordination:Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal customers, suppliers, partners, and international regulatory authorities to resolve high-stakes technical issues.
  • Engineering Oversight:Review and approve critical vendor submittals, providing expert guidance on complex deviation requests and design requirements.
  • Quality & Mentorship:Drive quality initiatives by chairing design reviews and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
  • Significant experience in Civil Engineering analysis and design within complex environments.
  • A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • Active construction license.
  • Advanced understanding of BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) core/fuel material behavior and structural design principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and team facilitation.

Engineering Innovation Center (EIC) in Warsaw, Poland is an integral part of the global engineering structure of GE Vernova. The site was officially founded in 2007, as GE Gas Power focused engineering organization. Currently the site extends engineering activities for GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy in Poland.
