Job Title- Civil Project Manager

The Civil Project Manager with end to end responsibility for project civil works, leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of civil works for power generation, transmission, and grid infrastructure projects, including Power Plants, HVDC Converter Stations, STATCOM, substations, and renewable energy facilities. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all civil engineering activities for Power Plant, HVDC, STATCOM, GIS/AIS Substation, and related energy infrastructure projects.
  • Develop project execution plans, construction methodologies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contractors / vendors, erection, and client teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, design drawings, applicable codes, and client quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, cost, and schedule performance using project management tools.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, protection, control, and commissioning teams.
  • Administer construction contracts, variations, claims, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.
  • Conduct project review meetings and prepare progress reports for management and clients.
  • Ensure timely procurement and availability of construction materials and equipment.
  • Support testing, commissioning, punch-list closure, project handover, and final documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Construction Management or Project Management is an advantage.
  • PMP®, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.

Experience

  • 15–20 years of experience managing civil construction projects in the energy sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficient in the use of construction management software, MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, for engineering calculations, documentation, and communication
  • Proven experience with EPC projects involving:
    • Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP)
    • HVDC Converter Stations
    • STATCOM/SVC Installations
    • GIS/AIS Substations (132 kV to 765 kV)

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based at engineering office, Gurgaon, along with travel to client offices, construction sites and supplier facilities.
  • Willingness to travel to site for extended durations based on project requirements
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases and commissioning activities.
