About the Role:

Looking to start a hands-on career with Australia's leading pump, power and water treatment solutions provider? We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee AIC Technician to join our team in Adelaide.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive team. You'll work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with the installation, maintenance and mobilisation of pumping equipment used across the water, wastewater and construction industries.

The role is primarily field based, giving you the opportunity to work across a variety of sites and locations. When not on site, you'll be based in our workshop helping prepare equipment and materials for upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Your responsibilities may include other tasks as directed by your manager from time to time.

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of pumping systems
  • Assist with the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment
  • Carry out general labouring and workshop duties
  • Prepare equipment, tools and materials for site work
  • Assist with basic maintenance and repairs of plant and equipment
  • Assist with testing and checking pumping systems
  • Complete inspection, testing and safety paperwork as required
  • Follow system drawings and instructions when preparing equipment for site works
  • Work closely with team members and other departments to support business operations
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all OH&S requirements
  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent the NPE brand professionally
  • Travel within South Australia and interstate as required
  • Participate in training and development opportunities
  • Other duties as directed by your supervisor

Key Competencies:

Essential

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Forklift Licence (LF) or willingness to obtain
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliable and hardworking with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments
  • Good time management skills
  • Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and site environments
  • Previous labouring, construction, trade assistant or outdoor work experience

Desirable

  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • HR Licence
  • Poly Welding Ticket
  • Confined Space Entry Ticket
  • Working at Heights Ticket
  • Dogging/Rigging Licence
  • Exposure to construction, dewatering, pumping, plumbing or related industries
