Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Civil Construction Foreperson to lead from the front and deliver Good Work on site. In this role, you’ll coordinate crews, plant, subcontractors and day-to-day operations to get work done safely, on time, to budget and to a high standard. If you’re practical, calm under pressure and know how to bring people together to get the job done, this could be your next move.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead site crews and coordinate daily works across labour, plant, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain a safe work environment for your team, subcontractors and the public.
  • Run pre-starts, manage hazards, and make sure safety, quality and environmental processes are followed.
  • Deliver work to programme and specification, with a strong focus on quality, productivity and doing the job right first time.
  • Complete site documentation including job sheets, timesheets, inspections, plant usage records and quality checklists.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • At least 8 years’ civil construction experience across a range of projects, with strong capability leading crews on site.
  • BCITO or equivalent trade qualification.
  • A full Class 1 licence. A full Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements is preferable.
  • Hands-on experience in bridge building, piling, temporary works, retaining structures, concrete formwork, concrete repairs and concrete placing/finishing.
  • Clear communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the confidence to set expectations and support people well.
  • A practical, safety-first mindset with pride in your work, a positive attitude and a willingness to keep learning.
