Phasor Engineering is currently seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Group. This is a field work on rotation of 20/8 days. Reporting to the Civil Field Services Manager, this position will be responsible for leading and executing foundation projects with the following duties and responsibilities. 

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
  • 2–5+ years of relevant field experience in civil construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects (experience in transmission, substations, or energy projects is an asset)
  • Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including earthworks, foundations, grading, drainage, and access road construction
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings in the field
  • Familiarity with quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) processes and documentation
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is considered an asset
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and work in remote or outdoor environments under varying weather conditions

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Civil or Structural Engineering Tech / EIT
  • 5-10 years’ experience in civil earthworks soil testing
  • Willing to spend 90% of the time in the field
  • Field Soil Testing experience
  • Project Coordinator experience
  • Safety tickets: Lab Compaction (SPMD/SPDD)
  • Field compaction testing (Nucellar densometer)
  • Additional lab soil tests: Hydrometer, CBR, Shear Test
  • Additional Field Tests: Electrical Resistivity, corrosivity, ASTM, CSA
  • Experience with asphalt and aggregate
  • At least a class 5 license with experience towing a trailer
