Job Description

Neegan Burnside Ltd. is growing, and we’re excited to welcome an Intermediate to Senior Civil Engineer to our Orangeville team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people and projects, someone who is ready to play an active role in shaping our Land Development and Municipal Engineering services and mentoring future engineering leaders.

As a trusted partner to our clients, you’ll collaborate with a strong, multidisciplinary team and make a tangible impact on community infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a wide range of land development and municipal engineering projects as a Lead Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to advance business development efforts and expand our civil engineering presence in the region.
  • Bring strong design input early in project planning to drive successful outcomes.
  • Oversee detailed design and reporting for stormwater management, roadways, water distribution, sanitary and storm collection systems, lot grading, and site plans.
  • Guide, mentor, and support the growth of junior team members.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through exceptional communication and project delivery.
  • Prepare proposals, technical documentation, schedules, and specifications aligned with our standards of excellence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Represent Neegan Burnside in industry networks, conferences, and professional events.

What You Bring

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario and/or Manitoba, or eligible for transfer.
  • 5–10+ years of civil consulting experience in land development and/or municipal infrastructure design.
  • Solid understanding of engineering best practices, codes, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget on complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing and client engagement.
  • A passion for community building and driving business growth.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in both vertical and horizontal municipal infrastructure design and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, REVIT, and/or MicroStation.
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and communities.
