About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work client-side with a skilled, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, exciting and diverse workplace.

In the Civil Engineering Operations Support Team, you will provide essential technical support to the operational contingent of WA's principal supplier of water, wastewater & drainage services.

This Role will report to the Senior Engineer — Civil and will be responsible for undertaking engineering support to assist in the provision and management of the state's wastewater asset base.

What the role will involve:

• Providing technical guidance in essential reactive repair work (sinkholes, bursts, blockages etc.)

• Undertaking Investigations and preparing of technical reports

• Planning and reviewing proactive asset maintenance

• Delivering minor projects to address deficiencies in our ageing assets

• Investigating customer queries and working with Local Government representatives to achieve the best common outcome

• Reviewing proposed projects to ensure that they are safely and efficiently operable and maintainable throughout the life of the asset

• Communicate the needs and preferences of our operational team to the technical and leadership stakeholders within Water Corporation

Key skills and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent with significant civil water industry experience.

• Comprehensive technical knowledge of the design, operation and maintenance of water, wastewater and drainage assets.

• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and work across multiple teams to achieve the required outcome.

• Considerable maintenance and asset health experience providing civil engineering and/or technical support in a utility business, engineering consultancy or a heavy engineering and construction environment.

• Relevant professional engineering experience in supporting teams in evaluating and resolving construction/constructability and technical issues.

• A working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP/Maximo is desirable.

• Australian "C" Class drivers' licence

We’re the principal supplier of water, wastewater and drainage services in Western Australia to hundreds of thousands of homes, businesses and farms, as well as providing bulk water to farms for irrigation.

Our services, projects and activities span over 2.6 million square kilometres. We have regional offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie which allow our employees to provide a high level of professional expertise to customers.

We’re the seventh successive agency to deal with these services in Perth, Western Australia.
