Job Title – Civil Draftsman

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Draftsman to prepare, revise, and manage technical drawings for civil construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves supporting engineering and construction teams by producing accurate drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Design Support

• 
  Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, layouts, sections, and construction details.
• 
  Develop shop drawings based on approved design and construction requirements.
• 
  Produce as-built drawings reflecting completed project conditions.
• 
  Modify and update drawings based on design changes and site requirements.

Technical Documentation

• 
  Prepare and maintain drawing registers and document records.
• 
  Ensure all drawings are properly numbered, revised, and distributed.
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of project drawings and revisions.
• 
  Coordinate with document control teams to ensure proper filing and tracking.

Coordination with Engineering & Site Teams

• 
  Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, consultants, and site teams.
• 
  Incorporate site feedback and engineering instructions into drawings.
• 
  Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to resolve drawing conflicts.
• 
  Assist in preparing construction details and technical submissions.

Quality & Compliance

• 
  Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
• 
  Verify dimensions, elevations, and technical details for accuracy.
• 
  Review drawings for completeness and constructability before issuance.
• 
  Support QA/QC requirements by maintaining accurate technical documentation.

Site Support Activities

• 
  Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and project conditions.
• 
  Assist in preparing site sketches and drawing modifications.
• 
  Support project teams during inspections and project handovers.
• 
  Ensure as-built information is accurately captured and documented.

Software & Drawing Management

• 
  Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• 
  Organize digital drawing files and maintain project databases.
• 
  Ensure proper version control of all engineering drawings.
• 
  Generate drawing reports and documentation as required by project management.

Qualifications & Experience

• 
  Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• 
  3–8 years of experience as a Civil Draftsman in construction, infrastructure, or real estate development projects.
• 
  Strong understanding of civil and structural drawings.
• 
  Experience working on UAE construction projects is preferred.
