UGL Utilities Operations & Maintenance works in partnership with Endeavour Energy to deliver essential infrastructure across one of Australia’s largest electricity networks, supporting reliable power supply to millions of customers across NSW.
Lead and deliver civil designs while acting as a trusted subject matter expert supporting major projects and external stakeholders across the network.

About the role
This isn’t just a design role, you’ll be the person others look to for technical direction and assurance.You’ll work across civil infrastructure projects including substations, access roads and drainage, supporting both capital and maintenance works across the Endeavour Energy network.
Alongside delivering high-quality designs, you’ll partner closely with project teams and external consultants, reviewing work, providing guidance and ensuring designs meet standards, compliance and practical delivery outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Lead civil design for substations, drainage, access roads and network infrastructure.
Provide technical oversight and guidance to internal teams and external consultants.
Review and approve designs, reports, drawings and specifications.
Support project delivery from planning through to construction, including site inspections.
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, local council requirements and safety regulations.
What we offer
About you
Proven experience as a senior civil design engineer, with a solid understanding of Australian Standards and local regulatory requirements with demonstrated expertise in stormwater design, drainage and earthworks.
Experience in electricity distribution, transmission or broader energy sector, including substation or utility-related civil works.
Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively with consultants, contractors and project teams.
Expertise with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D.
Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites around greater Sydney.
