We are looking for an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor for project based work in Prince George and various locations in BC.

As a Civil Construction Supervisor, you will coordinate/lead your crew and subcontractors to ensure your project is completed safely, on time, on budget and in accordance with the project requirements. You will organize equipment and labour to ensure efficient work progression from start to finish. Mentoring staff and maintaining site moral is also required of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise daily site activities across multiple crews or work areas
  • Plan work activities and ensure materials, equipment, labour, and subcontractors are available when needed
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to plan work and provide clear instructions to forepersons and crews
  • Maintain responsibility for safety, quality, and environmental performance on site
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental requirements, company protocols, and established metrics
  • Identify hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented
  • Coordinate material ordering, deliveries, and site logistics
  • Maintain daily site records including:
    • Crew and equipment time
    • Material receiving
    • Production tracking and summaries of work completed
  • Support crew development, training, and performance management
  • Lead from the front line by being present in the field and engaged with crews
  • Provide internal and external customer service excellence, including coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders
  • Step in on the tools or equipment when coverage or operational support is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

You Possess

  • Minimum 5 years of civil construction industry experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Proficient knowledge of road and underground utility construction techniques, materials, and supplies
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with reliable transportation
  • Physically fit; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, extreme heat, wind, and sub‑freezing temperatures
  • Experience with Heavy Job Time Reporting considered an asset
  • Computer experience (e.g., job reporting, email, spreadsheets) considered an asset
  • Strong safety mindset with a quality‑focused approach and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well in a diverse team environment
  • Able to work independently while managing daily schedules and shifting priorities
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and problem‑solving capability
  • Dependable, accountable, and responsible
