We’re looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our Civil Construction team in Invercargill You’ll deliver high‑quality civil and structural carpentry works, supporting current projects and helping us build infrastructure that improves the quality of life for our communities.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role working across a variety of civil construction projects. You’ll be involved in the construction and maintenance of civil and structural assets, working with concrete, precast and structural steel. In addition to trade‑based carpentry tasks, this role includes hammer hand and general site support duties as required to support programme delivery. Your work will directly contribute to safe, reliable infrastructure across the Southland region. This role suits a qualified carpenter who enjoys working outdoors, managing their own workload and being flexible to assist across site activities while delivering work to a high standard.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Deliver civil and structural carpentry works, including formwork, bridge works, retaining walls and structures
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Work safely and efficiently in accordance with Fulton Hogan HSE requirements
  • Coordinate daily tasks and manage your own workload on site
  • Support wider project teams to meet programme and quality requirements

We’re looking for someone with

  • Relevant trade qualification (Carpentry or equivalent)
  • Experience in civil construction or heavy structural carpentry
  • Strong health and safety awareness and a quality‑focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
