Michael Baker International is seeking an ambitious and driven Civil Associate, Highway/Roadway to join our New York City team for Spring/Summer 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's leading transportation professionals on transformative infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life throughout the region.
As part of our Highway/Roadway team, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation projects for clients including NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, PANYNJ, DEP, cities, counties, and other public-sector agencies. You'll gain hands-on experience in roadway geometric design, roadside safety, ADA compliance, utilities coordination, maintenance and protection of traffic, contract document development, stakeholder engagement, and innovative project delivery.

While our primary focus is recruiting for Spring/Summer 2027, highly qualified candidates may also be considered for immediate part-time opportunities based on experience and availability.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $78,000 - $80,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
