Overview:
Our client is a well-established regional engineering consultancy with a growing portfolio across Barbados, the wider Caribbean, and international markets. They are looking for an experienced Civil and Structural Engineer to join their team and contribute to a range of exciting projects in the commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across disciplines, solving technical challenges, and delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions. You will be involved in every phase of the project life cycle from design to execution, while helping to shape the built environment across the region.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and analyze civil and structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and specifications.
• Perform structural modeling, calculations, and simulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful delivery.
• Develop detailed civil engineering designs and conduct feasibility studies.
• Participate in tender preparation and support project proposals.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction for compliance with design intent.
• Provide technical input on materials, testing, and safety compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
• Identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Assist with securing project permits and approvals.
• Stay current with engineering codes, trends, and innovations
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 4–5 years of experience in building and infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE).
• Working knowledge of British, US, and/or European design codes.
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects of varying scale.
• Professional registration or eligibility for registration is an asset.
