Help Preserve and Protect Parks
Join the Parks Security Service!
NYC Parks is the steward of over 30,000 acres of green open spaces in New York City including parks, playgrounds, beaches, tennis courts, golf courses and recreation centers. Members of the Parks Security Service are City Seasonal Aides/Security Guards and perform routine patrols of parks, beaches, pools and related facilities to promote proper use and enjoyment of parks.
CSA/Security Guard candidates will work outdoors in the field of security at beaches, pools, or regional parks to advise patrons of park rules and regulations. Newly hired staff will patrol our parks on foot, greet patrons, and help whenever possible. During their time with Urban Park Service, employees may have the opportunity to take the 8- and 16-hour Security Certificate course. These certifications can be used to help the employee get their Security Guard License if they choose to pursue that independently.
