The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of City Clerk Services Specialist in the City Clerk's Office. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, performs specialized administrative and technical work related to the operation of the Office of the City Clerk; and performs related duties as required.

Please Note: While the current City Clerk Services Specialist vacancy is within Archives and Records, the list that is established may be used to fill future vacancies in other areas, such as:

  • Council and Commission Services
  • City Clerk Operations
  • Passports


Vacancy Information:

  • The standard schedule for this position vacancy is Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:30pm (4 day work week)

  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • Experience maintaining and quality checking public records
  • Initiative, sound judgement and adaptability

Examples of duties

  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience performing specialized technical and administrative duties involving direct public contact
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
  • Must be able to pass examination and accept appointment as a Clark County Field Registrar
  • Must qualify for and accept appointment as Passport Application Acceptance Agent
  • Must obtain a bond and Nevada Secretary of State notarial appointment and obtain an appointment as a Notary Public within the first ninety (90) days of employment as condition of continued employment
  • Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six (6) months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment
  • Desirable: The ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and/or Tagalog, both verbally and in writing
  • Desirable: Experience working for a local, state, or federal agency

The assessment and selection process for this position will take place on the dates listed above. All candidates who wish to be considered for this position will need to be in Henderson, Nevada, and make themselves available to participate in the testing process at any time on any of the dates listed above.

This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
