Job Description

These are temporary positions for a duration of 6 months with possible extension for additional duration.

NYCHA has established the Healthy Homes Unit (HHU), which reports directly to the General Manager (or COO) and performs work on the operational side of environmental hazard compliance. Within the HHU, Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation (OMAR) works to visually assess paint conditions annually at all NYCHA developments and perform mold cleaning at all NYCHA developments.

Under immediate supervision, with limited latitude for the exercise of initiative or independent judgment, this position receives training and assists in carrying out defined tasks on the performance of mold condition assessments and other such tasks to provide necessary and improved community service.

Incumbents will utilize handheld devices for entry of data into the Maximo work ticketing system and perform other duties as needed, including but not limited to the following:

1. Perform visual assessments of painting conditions in apartments.
2. Clean mold/mildew conditions in apartments using the RRP procedure.
3. Utilize HEPA Vacuum to clean Apt. Ventilation Duct
4. Distribute notices for work that needs to be conducted.
5. Take pre and post photos of mold conditions, before uploading them to the mold cleaning work order
using the NYCHA iWM app.
6. Communicate with residents to obtain apartment access.
7. Complete simple repairs in bathrooms-(replace caulking around bathtub and sink).
8. Travel within the five boroughs to perform assigned tasks.
