Job Description

• An established and highly reputable East Coast Importer/Packer/Shipper is in growth-mode and expanding their Citrus category.
• This role will manage existing grower relationships and develop opportunities for their 365-day supply program.
• The position is responsible for sourcing, procurement, grower relations and will be customer facing, working very closely with the retail sales team.
• Our client has a great reputation within the industry, with a year-round supply for their core categories (including citrus) and start-of-the-art distribution, cold storage and repack operations.
• This opportunity is in the greater Philadelphia/New Jersey area, with relocation assistance available.

  Required Experience & Qualifications Include

• Manage all aspects of sourcing strategy, including contracting and related purchasing decisions.
• Work with the sales & marketing teams to identify, source and develop new products and secure and renew contracted retail sales programs.
• Be the company expert in matters related to product quality and market trends.
• Frequent travel expected for this role. (Both domestic and international)

Required Experience & Qualifications Include

• Established and extensive relationships and contacts with international Citrus growers.
• Strong citrus category knowledge and background. Specifically imports and mandarin/clementine varieties.
• Successful track record in both sourcing and “spot buys” when needed to cover retail P.Os.
• Knowledge of international fruit growing regions, quality characteristics and issues, shelf life, shipping & handling characteristics, import supply chain, pack styles.
• College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study preferred or relevant job history.
