Tooling Design Specialist Job Summary:
Circle Brands is seeking a talented Tooling Design Specialist to join our Product Development team. The Tooling Design Specialist plays a vital role in creating innovative, high-quality tooling patterns that support new product development while preserving the heritage of Western craftsmanship.
Tooling Design Specialist Responsibilities:
- Design and develop original tooling patterns for saddles and tack products
- Tool leather components for prototypes in collaboration with product development
- Provide creative direction on tooling styles, layouts, and aesthetics
- Translate concepts into production-ready designs
- Stay current with Western market trends and customer preferences
- Ensure quality and manufacturability of all tooling designs
- All other duties as assigned by management
Tooling Design Specialist Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced hand tooling and leatherworking skills
- Strong artistic ability and attention to detail
- Ability to merge traditional Western styles with modern trends
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-driven with excellent time management
Tooling Design Specialist Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leather tooling, preferably in saddlery or Western products
- Strong portfolio showcasing tooling and design work
- Knowledge of Western tooling styles and techniques
- Experience in product development or manufacturing preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
Work Environment:
This is a hands-on, on-site role in a collaborative workshop and product development environment.
