Acting as the primary cloud face-off for CIB Technology, business stakeholders, central CTO functions and relevant control and regulatory forums you’ll ensure cloud services support business priorities while meeting HSBC’s risk appetite, resilience expectations, regulatory obligations and technology standards. You’ll set a clear target state for cloud adoption, platform usage, operating models and engineering capability across CIB and establish common practices that enable engineers to work consistently across cloud platforms and services. Success means measurable progress against cloud strategy and target state, improved visibility and optimisation of cloud expenditure and strong operational performance.
This role shapes how CIB adopts and operates cloud services at enterprise scale with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as a key platform in the estate. You’ll set direction across strategy, engineering standards, FinOps and operational management and establish common practices that reduce unnecessary variation while strengthening resilience and control. The work has visibility with senior technology and business stakeholders and it plays a direct role in regulatory and assurance outcomes.
