The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults.
The ministry also invests in community-based groups that support prevention and early intervention services such as Family Resource Networks, youth emergency shelters as well as programs that raise awareness and help respond to family violence, sexual violence, and abuse.

Are you passionate about using data to drive meaningful improvements in public services? The Ministry is seeking a CI Data and Advancement Analyst to transform program data into insights that support evidence-based decision making and service quality improvement.
Reporting to the Manager, CI Program Analysis and Performance, you will conduct advanced research and analysis, develop service quality indicators, and produce targeted reports that inform program strategy. You may also work with program policy teams, regional service delivery partners, Delegated First Nations Agencies, Information Management, and Human Resources to identify and report on trends and recommend improvements that strengthen service delivery.
As a key resource within the Branch and across the Ministry, you will also support cross-divisional initiatives, contribute to committees, and help ensure data and research inform continuous improvement efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Drawing upon your superior data analysis, communication and presentation skills, you will build collaborative environments with various stakeholders and program areas to enhance best practices and continuous improvement in program delivery. Your proven critical thinking, analytical, and research skills will assist you with data extraction, refinement and report building.
Our ideal candidate must have a passion for data analytics, research, and report building. We are looking for a candidate who takes initiative in supporting complex projects and brings creative problem-solving and data presentation skills. Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to shifting priorities, and carry tasks to completion.
This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to deliver projects within tight timelines.

University graduation in a related field (i.e. Science, Information Science, Social Science, Business Administration or Public Administration/Management, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences) along with 2 years progressively responsible related experience in conducting analysis, data reporting and applied research (quantitative and qualitative) is required; or equivalent as described below.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience using SQL to extract, manipulate, validate and analyze data from relational databases.
A master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Temporary Position – This is a temporary position that is anticipated to be 12 months in duration.
