Job Description

Church Partnerships Trust is a Christian charity within HTB Group that helps churches and Christian congregations across the UK access church buildings and other spaces in which to worship, grow and serve their communities. Working alongside church leaders, denominations, landlords and property owners, Church Partnerships Trust identifies church buildings for sale, and matches them with congregations. These buildings are then purchased by CPT and leased on to congregations, providing spaces for them to worship in and grow their ministries, and securing the buildings as places of Christian worship.

The Managing Director (MD) will oversee strategy implementation, operations and fundraising for this new venture, with the support of a small team, reporting to the HTB Group CEO and the board of trustees. You will be expected to be able to operate credibly at a senior level, interacting with key stakeholders, including trustees and donors.

Applications for this position will close on Sunday 11th October. This is a part-time, 3 day a week position for a 6 month fixed-term contract.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Supporting the trustees in developing a clearly articulated strategy for this new venture.
  • Overseeing operations, ensuring that efficient systems and processes are developed, setting up the entity for future scale.
  • Overseeing the management of the property purchase pipeline, ensuring that buildings and congregations are subject to the necessary due diligence, whilst moving as quickly as possible.
  • Ensuring that we maintain a pipeline of congregations and churches that provide opportunities for donor investment.
  • Managing the team of two part-time staff members, alongside other advisors from within the HTB Group.
  • Providing support for fundraising, writing proposals and ensuring thanking and reporting to donors takes place.
  • Acting as the senior point of contact within the HTB Group, ensuring that the entity works well with other areas of the group and especially with Group Professional Services.

Requirements

The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:

  • Experienced manager/leader – you will have held previous senior positions and be confident operating at board level
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Knowledge and understanding of the church context in the UK

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and work-life balance, including:

  • 25 days pro rata annual leave (plus public holidays) , which increases with length of service
  • Pension scheme contributions
  • Employee Assistance Programme for confidential support
