Eurofins is seeking a Chromatography Scientist – Team Lead with strong expertise in large molecule (protein/biologics) analysis to support and guide analytical activities within a dynamic laboratory environment.

This role combines hands-on analytical work with informal team leadership, supporting method development, troubleshooting, and execution of complex chromatographic assays for biologics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support daily laboratory activities related to chromatographic analysis of proteins, antibodies, and other large molecules
  • Perform and oversee routine and non-routine analytical assays using HPLC and UPLC systems
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot chromatographic methods for large molecule characterization
  • Execute advanced techniques including:
    • Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)
    • Ion Exchange (IEX)
    • Reverse Phase (RP)
    • Affinity and Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC)
  • Utilize detectors such as DAD and FLD for protein analysis
  • Apply complementary techniques such as cIEF and BioA/Gx for characterization and identity testing
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior scientists or team members
  • Ensure data integrity, proper documentation, and adherence to laboratory and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support project timelines and deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on HPLC/UPLC experience, with a strong focus on large molecule/biologics analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with protein and antibody characterization using chromatographic techniques
  • Proven experience in method development and optimization for biologics
  • Strong understanding of chromatography principles across multiple modalities (SEC, IEX, RP, HIC, affinity)
  • Experience with cIEF, BioA/Gx, or similar large molecule analytical techniques preferred
  • Ability to lead by example in a lab setting, supporting team development and workflow execution
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and within a team
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Additional Information

What to Expect in the Hiring Process:

Position is on-site, full-time, Monday-Friday, First Shift, Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Branchburg, New Jersey, are encouraged to apply
