Job Summary: The Center for Christian Bioethics Manager is responsible for the daily management and operations of the Center and serves as representative of the Center to both academic and healthcare entities within Loma Linda University Health. This individual maintains a current knowledge of the organization's distinct Adventist heritage. This position proactively anticipates administrative needs, coordinates multiple projects from inception to completion, and supervises staff who work in the Center. They are responsible for coordination of the Center's events such as grand rounds, webinars, symposiums, conferences, oversees marketing, and communication for these events. This position prepares the operating budget, monitors the Center's endowment funds, prepares reports for Administrative Committee meetings, coordinates the production of publications, and maintains the Center's library and web pages. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of two years of experience in office administration, event planning, or related field required.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to read, write, and speak in English with professional quality. Use computer and other office equipment required for the position. Holds a current knowledge of the organization's mission and Adventist heritage. Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office or similar programs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphic, and publishing software. Must be able to use a computer and operate basic office equipment. Able to communicate with students, faculty, administrators, healthcare professionals, and visitors in a cordial, diplomatic, discrete, and gracious manner. Ability to work effectively as a leader and team member to accomplish specific goals, collaborate and accept direction from peers and supervisors, and work with diverse personalities and ethnicities. Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to multi-task, effectively organize and prioritize duties. Must be able to problem solve, make decisions, and use good judgment. Practices discretion with sensitive and confidential information. Can adapt to a fast-paced and frequently changing work environment. Must be able to see, hear, and speak well enough to perform job duties, communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically, and identify documents or equipment relevant to the position.
