Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160 km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long operational life and is transitioning from a dragline strip operation to a truck and shovel terrace operation.
Reporting to the CHPP Supervisor and Superintendent, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CHPP fixed plant assets. You will work collaboratively within a dynamic operations team, utilising available resources to optimise plant performance, equipment availability, and production outcomes. This role is well suited to an electrical tradesperson with strong operational discipline, a high regard for safety, and a proactive approach to plant optimisation and housekeeping.
Core accountabilities include:
Conduct regular CHPP plant inspections to monitor operating conditions and maximise efficiency
Respond to and assist with plant breakdowns to support the timely restoration of operations
Safely and efficiently operate mobile equipment, including loaders and ancillary equipment
Operate train load-out systems in accordance with site procedures
Manage and maintain product stockpiles to meet production requirements
Maintain a consistently high standard of housekeeping across the CHPP
Participate in operational improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance
Provide accurate operational feedback and information to support CHPP planning and performance
Support the CHPP team to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective production outcomes aligned with site target
About you:
Electrical trade qualification with experience in a CHPP fixed plant operations environment (Highly desirable)
Other trades will be considered
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence
Ability to identify abnormal plant conditions and respond effectively
Clear communication skills and a disciplined approach to procedures
Proactive, team-focused attitude
