Job Description

TITLE: Middle/Elementary Choir Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Professional licensure and an employee of the Harrison County Board of Education

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal

SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools

SALARY: Per Harrison County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  1. 1. Schedule and conduct all rehearsals.
  2. 2. Provide refinement of choral technique and expanded repertoire through developing at least one small ensemble.
  3. 3. Perform publicly outside of school environment.
  4. 4. Provide choral music for graduation ceremonies, if such ceremonies are conducted.
  5. 5. Maintain records, reports, and inventories as may be required.
  6. 6. Accept advice and suggestions in constructive manner.
  7. 7. Submit requisitions for the purchase of choral music to proper authority with designated budge and designated deadline.
  8. 8. Attend at least one music in-service, workshop or conference outside of school time during the academic year.
