Job Description

Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris, C12’s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.

At C12, we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. That’s why our founders—deeply rooted in academic and engineering excellence—have chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates, boosts performance, and minimizes hardware overhead—key ingredients for scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales, we aim to revolutionize quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.

Since our founding, we’ve raised over €25 million in funding, published 11 scientific papers, and secured 8 patents. Today, our fast-growing team of 80+, including 25 PhDs, has over 26 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting-edge lab spaces in Paris' historic Panthéon district, where scientists, engineers, and innovators work side-by-side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.

If you're passionate about shaping the future of quantum technology and want to make a real impact, C12 offers a unique environment to grow, learn, and innovate.

The Chip Design Team works at the heart of this development. It provides a safe environment for the quantum processor – the qubit – as well as pathways to interact with qubit. We work in collaboration with other teams, providing them validation methods and data for the same for their experiments in improving qubit quality.

You're internship at C12 Quantum Electronics

  • Simulate and compare designs, explore trade-offs, and investigate the relationship between predicted and measured performance.
  • Help cycling the dilution refrigerator based on the experiment requirements, and coordinate the measurement equipment as needed.
  • Carry out measurements and log data.
  • Process, analyze, and visualize experimental data to characterize component performance and inform further design work.
  • Document code, simulation methods, experimental procedures, and results clearly to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with engineers and researchers across teams, communicating findings and relating them to shared technical goals.

About you

  • You are completing or have recently completed a master’s degree in physics, engineering, or a related field. You are interested in quantum technologies and enjoy the process of conducting experiments from start to finish.
  • You have a strong background in quantum physics and have taken courses on Quantum Electromagnetism. Exposure to Quantum Information is a strong plus.
  • You have Python programming skills.
  • You have an interest in experimental work, including setting up measurement equipment, and troubleshooting.
  • You have a collaborative mindset, with the willingness to communicate your findings, ask questions, and work constructively with colleagues from different technical backgrounds.
  • You are curious about quantum experimentation, and are willing to learn new methods and work in a start-up environment.
  • Previous exposure to circuit or electromagnetic simulation, electronic measurements, quantum devices, or cryogenic systems would be appreciated.
  • You speak and write English fluently.

What we offer our interns

  • Two incredible office spaces in the heart of Paris (both next to the famous Panthéon!)
  • Swile meal vouchers
  • Vibrant office culture (team lunches, offsite events, Friday breakfasts..)
  • Mental health support with moka.care

You should join us if...

  • You want to contribute to achieving landmark results in quantum computing, making a difference in the emerging quantum technologies
  • You want to work within a 80+ people team with various backgrounds in nanofabrication, quantum electronics, and carbon nanotube science to create a revolutionary quantum computing processor
  • You want to thrive in an exceptional scientific environment with several industrial and academic partners
  • You share our values (excellence, scientific integrity, diversity, curiosity, and care) and want to help us define our product-focused culture and ambition to accelerate

C12 encourages all who feel qualified to apply. Recruitment decisions are based solely on qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience.

Applications from women are particularly encouraged and welcomed!

About C12

C12 is a Paris-based quantum computing startup building the next generation of scalable quantum computers.

Unlike Big Tech players, we’re pioneering a unique approach rooted in breakthrough materials science and novel interconnects. It's widely seen as the only path to true large-scale quantum computing.

We’re early-stage, fast-moving, and already a leader in Europe for spin qubits. Backed by over €25M in equity funding, our international team of 55 includes 25 world-class quantum scientists. Together, we’ve built a first-of-its-kind quantum chip production line and delivered devices with record-setting performance.

C12 is already generating revenue by partnering with leading industrial companies, helping them begin their quantum computing journey and tackle their most complex computational challenges.
