Job Role

The Overseas After-Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, fault diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and commissioning services for warehouse automation and robotic systems deployed across customer sites in the United States. Acting as the primary technical contact for customers, this role ensures the operational reliability, performance, and uptime of automated logistics equipment while delivering high-quality post-sales support and field service solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, internal engineering teams, and headquarters-based technical specialists to troubleshoot system issues, conduct preventative maintenance, support equipment installations, and optimize system performance. This position is ideal for hands-on technical professionals with experience in warehouse automation, robotics, AGV/AMR systems, or industrial automation environments who are comfortable operating independently within a customer-facing field service capacity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software issues related to AGVs, AMRs, robotic sorting systems, and warehouse automation equipment.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for customer operations, including emergency troubleshooting, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, system calibration, performance checks, and equipment servicing to maximize operational uptime.
  • Prepare technical service reports, fault analysis documentation, maintenance records, and operational manuals.
  • Deliver customer training programs covering system operation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methods, and best practices.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, replacement components, and service-related materials while coordinating with headquarters and supply chain teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and collect customer feedback to support product enhancement and engineering optimization initiatives.
  • Support software upgrades, system testing activities, and implementation of technical improvements in collaboration with R&D and engineering teams.
  • Ensure all service activities comply with local safety regulations, operational procedures, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to support customer satisfaction, project execution, and long-term service quality objectives.


Requirements

  • Diploma, Associate Degree, or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related technical disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within warehouse automation, robotics, automated material handling (MHE), industrial automation, logistics technology, or related industries.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing AGV systems, AMRs, robotic equipment, automated sorting systems, or similar automation technologies.
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support, field service, equipment commissioning, installation, or after-sales engineering services.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, automation equipment, sensors, industrial control systems, and robotic hardware components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing instruments, including multimeters and related troubleshooting equipment.
  • Familiarity with industrial sensors, machine communication systems, network connectivity, and automation control environments.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including service reporting, root cause analysis, maintenance records, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Professional certifications related to electrical systems, industrial automation, robotics, or field service engineering are highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and support customer sites across different locations as required.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within multinational and cross-functional teams.
  • Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory to support customer communication, technical reporting, and collaboration with headquarters engineering teams.
