
China Product Marketing Leader is responsible for strategic planning, product management and bids management for Garrett turbo business unit in China.
We are looking for a dynamic business-driven professional to join the team and support our Marketing Director. Though this is a regional position, the selected candidate will have global exposure and interact with multiple functions (Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Supply Chain…) and level of seniority. This is a high-visibility position where work will be presented up to executive level.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
Lead industry sizing & segmentation for Turbo verticals (Passenger Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle and Industrial Applications) in China
Drive regular refreshes of 10-Year Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan that embed customer strategy and product development plan: This includes organizing reviews to collect technical and commercial data related to business bids for the years to come and ensuring all agreed follow-up actions are implemented.
Analyze volume, revenue and margin by industry vertical and product family
Monitor industry signposts, key regulatory policies, and competitive dynamics
Product Management
Conduct regular VOC and OVOC to understand customer needs and define implications
Develop product targets and value propositions for new product launches in China; close collaboration with Global Marketing and the Engineering team is expected
Monitor and anticipate Powertrain trends in collaboration with the Engineering team, Customers, Regulators, and Engineering consultancies
Co-define the product benchmarking plan by vertical and maintain the findings database
Support East-for-East strategic initiatives, working closely with Platform Cost, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and Program management
Support regular refreshes of the Technology Roadmap
Bids Management
Conduct price walks to support Sales teams in preparing Price Quotation Forms (PQFs) for business bids
Support marketing assessments and business cases of NPOs and NPIs (New Product Opportunities/Introductions)
Maintain a database of parameters for awarded and bidding programs
Maintain a database of key cost reference points
Demand Planning Support/Misc.
Liaise with Sales teams to ensure all information in customer management and marketing databases is up to date for top business bids
Maintain monthly signpost updates for Turbo verticals
Monitor the monthly Sales Plan and analyze deviations versus prior months and the Annual Operating Plan
Be the go-to-person for data queries and volume analyses in support of other functions
Lead ad-hoc deep-dives on strategic topics
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
You should have:
BS or MS in Engineering, Science, Business or Finance (MBA is a plus)
8+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Engineering, or Business in an industrial environment (Automotive OEM / Tier 1 supplier / Engineering consulting preferred)
Experience working with cross-functional teams in an international environment (English as working language; communication/influencing skills)
Experience working in autonomy, with limited supervision
Strong ownership, resilience, attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
