Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment with a strong focus on chillers, hydronic systems, boilers, cooling towers, and associated controls.
• Service and maintain rooftop units, make-up air systems, VRF systems, pumps, and refrigeration equipment.
• Perform startups, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system optimization for commercial chiller and boiler systems.
• Troubleshoot control systems and work through complex mechanical and electrical issues in the field.
• Serve as a senior-level technical resource for other Service Technicians by assisting with diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting.
• Communicate with customers professionally and follow up to ensure complete satisfaction with service provided.
• Attend job site meetings and project-related discussions as needed while helping resolve technical or operational issues.
• Respond to emergency service calls when required and remain dependable in critical situations.
• Complete all additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• 8–12 years of commercial HVAC service experience with extensive chiller, boiler, hydronic, and controls experience.
• Strong background working on large tonnage commercial cooling systems.
• Experience with centrifugal, screw, scroll, or air-cooled/water-cooled chillers preferred.
• Stable work history with proven field experience.
• HVAC License required.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Type II or Universal Refrigerant License required.
• Chiller and boiler manufacturer certifications are highly preferred.
• Journeyman License is a plus.
• VRF experience is a plus.

Job Skills:

• Strong understanding of commercial chilled water and boiler systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Skilled with all standard HVAC hand tools, meters, recovery machines, combustion analyzers, and specialty diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with BAS/control systems is a plus.
• Ability to install, repair, and commission HVAC equipment.
• Strong technical aptitude with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and support other technicians.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
