The Children and Family Health Director is an administrative leadership position within the Health Department. This position oversees planning and management of programs and services within the division of Children and Family Health, which include Children’s Dental Clinic, Healthy Babies, and Women Infant and Children (WIC). Many of the services provided to the community by these programs are grant-funded, and this position is responsible for providing oversight to ensure grant compliance. This position is also a key member of the Administrative Management Team of the Health Department, contributing to department-wide initiatives. This is additionally a public-facing role expected to develop relationships with local and state public health partners, with an emphasis on maternal and child health.
Divisional Oversight - Provide leadership in the general operation of the Children and Family Health Division.
Provide direct supervision over 4 employees who, in turn, supervise 47 total staff.
Participate in the ongoing process of departmental strategic planning and community health improvement.
Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business, or equivalent from an accredited institution. Four years of related experience in public health or a health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of administrative and/or managerial experience in a public health or healthcare setting. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid Kansas driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years in Public Health administration and/or management, two or more years in Maternal and Child Health field. Master’s degree in Public Health
