Childcare Teacher – Part Time (Closing Support)

Location: Owens Cross Roads, Alabama
Department: Early Childhood Education
Job Type: Part-Time (2:30 PM-6:30 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and caring Childcare Teacher – Part Time to support classrooms during afternoon and end-of-day routines. This role helps ensure a safe, organized, and nurturing environment for children while assisting teachers with daily activities, transitions, and classroom wrap-up procedures.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young learners, is flexible, and thrives in a supportive team environment

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
• Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor activities, and transitions
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment
• Support teachers in preparing materials and setting up activities
• Assist with closing procedures, including cleaning, organizing, and preparing classrooms for the next day.
• Provide coverage and support where needed to ensure smooth end-of-day operations
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a positive and nurturing environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with young children or in a childcare setting preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Reliable, flexible, and able to assist in different classroom environments
• Patient, supportive, and attentive when working with children.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a childcare center, preschool, or daycare environment
• Understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning
• Ability to maintain structured routines and a calm environment
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
