Job Description

Are you a caring and dependable childcare professional? Join us at Shambhala HQ to provide in-office care in a fun and nurturing environment.

We are seeking a warm, experienced, and highly reliable Childcare Provider to provide childcare for team members’ children in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. This role is based at Shambhala HQ and involves supervising and caring for children on-site while their parents are working. The ideal candidate has hands-on childcare experience, is creative and calm under pressure, and can foster a fun and positive space that allows both kids and parents to thrive.

  • Work Schedule: This part-time position will work approximately 2 days per week, typically Tuesday & Thursday, but flexibility is an asset.

  • Work Location: This position will work primarily at our office in Nelson, BC.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise and care for children in an office-based setting.

  • Plan and lead safe, age-appropriate activities

  • Communicate openly and professionally with parents and maintain daily feedback.

  • Assist with basic needs, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and nap time as required.

  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe play and rest area.

  • Prioritize the safety, well-being, and happiness of all children at all times.

  • Follow all health, safety, and emergency protocols as required by the company.

  • Other duties as assigned related to childcare support.

Qualifications Include:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in childcare, nannying, or early childhood education.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start).

  • Background check (if required).

  • Early Childcare Educator (ECE) certification or equivalent is an asset, but not required.

  • Experience working with multiple age groups (infant to school-age children) is preferred.

  • Warm, nurturing, and genuinely loves working with children.

  • Highly responsible and reliable.

  • Creative and proactive with a positive attitude.

  • Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and flexible mindset.

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable to changing needs and situations.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to foster a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

  • Executes and displays the Shambhala spirit of love, magic, and welcome at each point of contact.
