Job Description

The Service

KU ANSTO Children's Centre is a purpose-built long day care service located within the peaceful bushland setting of the ANSTO Lucas Heights Campus, south of Sydney near Menai. Serving children from 6 weeks to 6 years, the centre supports ANSTO families in a nature-rich environment designed to inspire curiosity, exploration, and lifelong learning.

The centre places strong emphasis on building secure, nurturing relationships, guided by the Circle of Security and Educaring approaches to support children's emotional wellbeing. Its standout outdoor learning spaces use a loose parts play philosophy, encouraging children to explore, create, problem-solve, and develop resilience through open-ended interaction with natural and recycled materials. On-site parking is available, making it convenient for educators with their own transport.

  • Completion of a Circle of Security Foundations course, or a willingness to undertake training, will be highly regarded
  • An emerging or developing understanding of relationship-based pedagogy, with a commitment to strengthening skills in interpreting and responding to children’s cues and behaviours
  • A willingness to learn about and embed sustainable practices and environmental awareness within the program
  • A strong commitment to Aboriginal community partnerships, including supporting the Dharawal Language Program in collaboration with the Gujaga Foundation

Applicants should have:
