Looking for more flexibility? We also have casual (bank) opportunities available to cover staff holidays, sickness and busier sessions—perfect if you're looking for flexible work around your existing commitments.

Make a difference. Have a blast. Love your job.

Do you have the energy of a superhero, the creativity of an artist and a passion for working with children?

At Junior Adventures Group (JAG), we're on a mission to make every school day an adventure. We're looking for enthusiastic Childcare Activity Leaders / Playworkers to join our friendly team, creating exciting, safe and engaging experiences for children aged 4–11 before and after school.

No two days are the same! From football and team games to arts & crafts, STEM challenges, imaginative play and outdoor adventures, you'll help create unforgettable experiences where children can play, learn and thrive.

This is a split-shift role, working mornings and afternoons with a break in the middle of the day—ideal for anyone looking for a role that fits around family life, study or other commitments.

There are also opportunities to work additional hours during our Holiday Clubs and through Lunchtime Clubs, if desired.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver exciting, inclusive and age-appropriate activities including sports, arts & crafts, games and creative play.
  • Create a fun, safe and welcoming environment where every child feels happy, valued and included.
  • Supervise and support children throughout each session, encouraging confidence, independence and positive friendships.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and refreshments.
  • Complete registers and ensure children are safely signed in and out.
  • Set up and tidy away equipment before and after each session.
  • Work collaboratively with your team to deliver outstanding childcare.
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety and company policies at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves working with children and has a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Is reliable, caring and full of energy.
  • Enjoys leading activities and encouraging children to get involved.
  • Works well as part of a team and can use their own initiative.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Has experience in childcare, education, sports coaching, youth work or playwork (desirable but not essential—we value enthusiasm just as much as experience!).

What's in it for You?

  • Up to £12.71 per hour, depending on age and experience.
  • Term-time only working.
  • Opportunities for additional paid hours during Holiday Clubs and Lunchtime Clubs.
  • Family-friendly hours with no weekend working
  • Paid training and ongoing professional development.
  • Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme through Health Assured.
  • Discounted wraparound care and Holiday Clubs (where applicable).
  • Refer-a-Friend reward scheme.
  • A fun, supportive and welcoming team where every day is different.
