POSITION SUMMARY

The Child Watch Coordinator is responsible for leading and supervising the child watch development and family activities of assigned areas. The Child Watch Coordinator is also responsible for the development, organization and implementation of high quality pathway and families activities. The Coordinator will have direct responsibility for directing of the pathway center and family nights.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.

· Ensure all classes taught are in accordance with YMCA of Cleveland standards and guidelines.

· Demonstrated strong customer service skills and ability to engage children.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Self-motivated team player.

· Develop and maintain relationship with parents group, other agencies related to program areas.

· Supervise employees in assigned accountabilities, monitor program operation, scheduling and verify time sheets and actual hours worked.

· Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

· High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred.

Experience

· Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in customer service and youth program management preferred.

· Minimum 1 year programming experience.

Certification(s)and Requirements:

· Current certification in CPR/AED for Adults, Children and Infants and First Aid.

· Secure required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position within 30 days of hire.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

· Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

· Ability to effectively communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.

· Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.

· Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions

· Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time.

· The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment.

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.

· May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather.
