Job Category: Professional Services, Job Purpose: This position provides psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to children/adolescents (ages 0-17) with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders, or a combination of those conditions. The basic objectives of the psychotherapist are to reduce psychiatric symptoms, reduce the frequency and duration of in-patient hospitalizations, promote recovery, and enhance community-living tenure and functioning. Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate documentation to include diagnosis, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries as well as participating in required meetings such as clinical supervision, case consultation, and department and agency meetings.

Qualifications: Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure, and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)
Minimum Required Education: Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric mental health nursing, or a degree in a specified related field. Educational background must meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35.
Minimum Required Experience: Experience working with developmentally disabled children/adolescents is preferred.
Required License – Certification – Registration: Meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35
Issued By Governing Body: Wisconsin. Wisconsin State license as an LCSW, LPC, or LPC-IT must be obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.

Required Valid Driver’s License: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
Required Auto Insurance: Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy.
Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
