
JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Child Nutrition Programs
REPORTS TO: Director Child Nutrition
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Fulltime � 12 months
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related fields. Registered and Licensed Dietitian preferred
Experience: Minimum of four years progressively more responsible work experience in nutrition/food service required. Public school or federal food service program experience preferred.
Skills: Demonstrate supervisory ability, excellent organizational and communication skills, knowledge of food preparation and department of health regulations.

Assess the nutrition education needs of the district and coordinate/integrate nutrition education with the district curriculum. Work with Director to select age appropriate education materials and activities.
Plan/attend Health Fairs held by sites or community to promote the importance of Child Nutrition Programs.
Manage student allergies and special diets.

ATTENDANCE STATEMENT:
Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% minimum attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Office atmosphere at Central Office. May be exposed to institutional kitchen environment during inspections, employee training, etc.

Sitting as required to complete tasks.
Use of hands to do fine finger work as in operating a computer.
Strong eye-hand coordination.
Talking and hearing as to communicate concerning job-related duties as assigned and communicate via telephone.
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) with or without correction.
