The Child Life Specialist administers Child Life services as ordered by a physician and in accordance with accepted practices of Child Life. He/she is responsible for evaluating, planning and implementing Child Life Services for the inpatient population.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Child Life (Required )
Master's Degree in Child Life (Preferred)
Required Licenses and Certifications
Certification with the Child Life Council within 1 Year (Required)
CPR certification (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of the field and committed to its purpose.
Knowledge in child development, therapeutic activities, awareness of children’s emotional needs, and skill in dealing with common behavioral problems of children. Ability to work well with others.
Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
Computer system/software proficiency.
