The Child Counselor is primarily responsible for addressing the emotional and mental needs of Casa de Misericordia children and adolescent clients.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
• Arkansas: Master's degree in counseling, psychology or related field.
• Texas: Enrolled in master's degree in counseling, psychology, or related field with timeline to receive of 2 years.
Licensure:
• Arkansas: Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC or Provisionally Licensed Master of Social Worker, LMSW in the state of Arkansas.
• Texas: Current licensure or currently pursuing license in the state of Texas.
Experience: One to two years' experience in a center for victims of family violence or similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
• Texas: Master's degree in counseling psychology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
• Knowledgeable about development issues and cultural sensitivities.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
• Basic computer skills.
